Clear evidence speeds resolution. Here's what to capture.

Close-ups
Take detailed shots of each damaged area. Include a ruler or coin for scale if possible.
Packaging
Photograph the box, crate, or pallet — including any crushed corners, torn wrap, or broken bands.
Documents
Photograph or scan the bill of lading, delivery receipt (with notation), and commercial invoice.
Questions About Filing
Straight answers about the claims process.
You should file within 48 hours of delivery for the fastest processing. Note any damage or shortage on the delivery receipt, take clear photos of the cargo and packaging, and submit your claim through this page. Under the Carmack Amendment, the time bar for domestic claims is 9 months from delivery; for international shipments under CMR, it is 1 year.
A human opens your file within 24 hours and assigns it a reference number starting with CLM-2026. You receive an investigation update within 5 business days, and a resolution proposal within 14 days. Every step is communicated by your preferred contact method. No automated email loops, no ticket queues you can't see.
You need the original bill of lading or shipping confirmation, photos of the damaged cargo and packaging, a commercial invoice showing the declared value of the goods, and the delivery receipt with damage notation. You can upload or describe these in the claim wizard — our team will request any missing items after the first review.
Yes. All-risk cargo insurance is included on every Colivelo shipment — ocean, air, or road — at no extra charge. If you declared a higher value at booking, that coverage applies. Claims under the insurance policy are separate from carrier liability claims, and our team helps you file under whichever path gives you the faster, fuller recovery.
