Our Commitment#

Colivelo Shipping is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Accessibility is not a checkbox for us. It is an ongoing engineering practice. Every new page we ship is tested with keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader software, and reduced-motion preferences before it goes live. When we fall short, we say so openly — and we fix it.

What We Have Built#

The following features are live on coliveloshipping.com today:

Skip-to-content link — The first Tab stop on every page jumps directly to the main content, bypassing the navigation menu.
Full keyboard navigation — Every link, button, form field, and carousel control is reachable and operable with Tab, Shift+Tab, and Enter alone.
Visible focus indicator — A gold outline appears on every interactive element when focused via keyboard, so you always know where you are.
ARIA labels on icon-only controls — Every button or link that contains only an icon (search, carousel arrows, share buttons) carries a descriptive aria-label.
Descriptive alt text on every image — Content images carry meaningful descriptions; decorative images use empty alt="" to be hidden from screen readers.
Reduced-motion support — When your system preference is set to reduce motion, all carousels stop auto-playing, count-up animations display final values instantly, and marquee scrolling pauses.
Semantic HTML landmarks — Pages use <header>, <nav>, <main>, and <footer> so screen readers can jump between regions.
Associated form labels — Every form input has a programmatically associated <label> or aria-label, and validation errors are announced to assistive technology.

Honest Limitations#

We strive to conform — we do not claim full compliance. Two areas where we still have work to do:

  • Interactive tracking map. Our shipment tracking page uses an interactive Leaflet map to display GPS routes. Map panning and zooming can be difficult to operate with keyboard or screen readers alone. As an alternative, every tracking page also provides a text-based milestone timeline listing all 9 scan events in chronological order with dates, locations, and statuses — no map interaction required.
  • Progressive legacy audit. Some older page templates inherited from our original framework are being progressively reviewed. We audit each page before major changes and fix issues as we find them. If you encounter a page that does not meet the standard described here, please report it — we will prioritize the fix.

Report a Barrier#

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on coliveloshipping.com — a page you cannot navigate by keyboard, an image without alt text, a form field without a label, or anything else — please tell us. We read every report.
